Jetro Willems has revealed that Newcastle are considering making his loan move from Frankfurt a permanent one this summer.
The left-back arrived at St James' Park on a season-long loan last summer and has settled into life in the Premier League.
The Magpies have the option to buy Willems once his loan move finishes in June but a move back to Germany remains up in the air.
When asked about his next move, the 25-year-old suggested that staying put in the north east could be on the cards.
'I feel the same - I'll keep going,' Willems told the Evening Chronicle. 'I heard some things that the club have already agreed with Frankfurt.
'I haven't spoken to them. We will see, but it will be nice. I don't know if people think I am doing my job well but I am feeling good.'
Willems, who was linked with moves to Manchester United and Man City earlier on in his career, has made 18 league appearances for Newcastle, scoring two goals and notching two assists.
Steve Bruce is set to sit down with owner Mike Ashley over potential transfer soon and Willems could certainly be on the agenda.
