Johan Cruyff's legacy in football cannot be underestimated.
The former Ajax and Barcelona player and coach had a major influence on the careers of some of the top coaches in the sport today.
The new Barcelona boss is just one of a number of Cruyff's disciples who have held positions at the elite level.
Ronald Koeman
Cruyff and Koeman's paths first crossed at Ajax in 1985 before the pair were reunited at Barcelona in 1989.
The two Dutchmen achieved great things together at the Camp Nou before Koeman left to join Feyenoord in 1995.
Pep Guardiola
Perhaps the most obvious case of Cruyff's impact on his former players is Guardiola's career as a coach.
The current Manchester City boss played under Cruyff for six years at Barcelona and has shaped his future work on the Dutchman.
Frank Rijkaard
Before becoming the head coach of Barcelona, Rijkaard learned his trade playing under Cruyff at Ajax between 1985 and 1987.
Marco van Basten
Like Rijkaard, Van Basten worked under Cruyff at Ajax in the 1980s and would go on to follow in his footsteps in the dugout of the Amsterdam club.
Ernesto Valverde
Valverde arrived at the Camp Nou as part of Cruyff's revolution in 1988 and would stay for two years before leaving for Athletic Club.
The Basque winger would go on to coach both Athletic and Barcelona later on.
Eusebio Sacristan
From 1988 to 1995, Eusebio formed part of Cruyff's Dream Team at Barcelona and would go on to coach the B team at the Catalan club, as well as work under Rijkaard in the first team.
Jose Mari Bakero
A stalwart for Cruyff during his time in charge of the Blaugrana, midfielder Bakero would go on to coach Real Sociedad among other clubs.
Sergi Barjuan
The former left-back was at Barcelona during Cruyff's final three years in charge and has forged out a career in coaching at Almeria and Real Mallorca among other teams.
Michael Laudrup
The Dane was a key player for Cruyff between 1989 and 1994 at Barcelona and has coached Getafe and Mallorca in Spain.
Albert 'Chapi' Ferrer
Ferrer was an ever-present for the large part of Cruyff's Barcelona tenure and has gone on to coach Cordoba and Mallorca.
Onesimo Sanchez
Cruyff didn't afford Onesimo much game time at Barcelona but he certainly made his mark on the future Huesca and Murcia boss.
Jordi Cruyff
Jordi worked under his father at Barcelona and, after a playing career that also took in Manchester United and Espanyol, he's coached Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Ecuadorian national team and Shenzhen.
Hristo Stoichkov
Cruyff's feared striker for many years at the Camp Nou, Stoichkov has gone on to coach his national Bulgaria and CSKA Moscow.
Oscar Garcia Junyent
Celta Vigo are the latest club to employ Garcia as head coach and benefit from the influence Cruyff on him during their two seasons at Barcelona together.
Abelardo
The former Alaves and Espanyol boss was a mainstay in the centre of Cruyff's defence during his last two years in charge at Barcelona.
Jan Wouters
The former midfielder worked under Cruyff at Ajax and would go on to coach the Dutch giants, as well as rivals PSV.
Danny Blind
Between 1986 and 1988, Blind learned from Cruyff at Ajax before starting his coaching career at the Amsterdam club in 2005. He was in charge of the Netherlands between 2015 and 2017.
Julen Lopetegui
The back-up goalkeeper at Cruyff's Barcelona from 1994 to 1996, Lopetegui has held some prestigious positions during his coach career.
After disappointing spells at Spain and Real Madrid, the Spaniard is now in charge of Sevilla.
Cristobal Parralo
The former right-back had one season with Cruyff at Barcelona at the start of the 1990s but that was enough to inspire him to take up coaching, being appointed at clubs like Deportivo and Racing Santander.
Albert Celades
After coming through the Barcelona academy, Celades found himself at Cruyff's service in the first team in the Dutchman's final year in charge.
The Spaniard was most recently in charge of Valencia but was sacked at the end of last season.
