Tommy Johnson is poised to join Blackpool as their new head of recruitment.

The former Celtic and Aston Villa striker had been talking to Southend United about becoming part of their management team with Henrik Larsson and Johan Mjallby until Johnson pulled out.

The 48-year-old is now set to join League One rivals Blackpool as part of their restructuring which has seen Ben Mansford come in as chief executive and Linton Brown as commercial officer.

Meanwhile, Southend have switched their attention to former Macclesfield Town boss Sol Campbell as they look to bring in a new manager.

Campbell may also bring in former Portsmouth teammate Herman Hreidarsson as his assistant.

Championship strugglers Millwall are finalising terms with Gary Rowett to become their new manager. Millwall face Rowett's former club Stoke City on Saturday.
