Jordan Henderson believes he can play on at the highest level for another seven years with the Liverpool and England midfield star revealing he feels 'as a good as ever'.
The 30-year-old Reds captain believes his physical conditioning and the way he has looked after himself means he could still be around for years to come.
And Henderson, who returned from injury to play in England's 2-1 Nations League win over Belgium on Sunday, says his love of the game will ensure he'll still have the hunger to keep performing for both club and country for as a long as possible.
Henderson had not played since coming off injured at half-time during Liverpool's Premier League victory over Chelsea on September 20.
But he was given the green light to join up with Gareth Southgate's England squad for the current block of internationals by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and was deemed fit enough to start in the win over Belgium, where he won a penalty in the first half before being replaced after the break.
And the former Sunderland star, who earned his 56th cap against world No 1-ranked Belgium, admits he is focused on ensuring he can keep playing for England and Liverpool for as long as he can.
'I’m just turned 30 and I still feel about 25 physically and I feel as good as I’ve ever felt,' Henderson told Liverpool's official website.
'I’m at a good point in my career in terms of my experience and physically there’s not even a question about anything like that at the moment.
'I want to try to play as long as possible. I still love the game and I want to play for England and Liverpool as long as I can.'
Henderson's current Liverpool contract runs to 2023 but he is convinced his fitness levels will give him the chance to spend more seasons at Anfield and lead the Premier League champions to more honours.
'I’ve always lived my life the right way in terms of doing everything right, eat the right things, sleep right and live my life the best way,' he added.
'So even in the next six or seven years I should hopefully be able to perform at the highest level.
'At the minute I feel physically very good and feel I am at a good part of my career in terms of the balance of experience I’ve had in the last 10 years but also I feel very strong.'
Henderson suffered a knee injury in July which ruled him out of the run-in to Liverpool's title success but he says he recovered well.
'I was a bit unfortunate to pick up the knock I did at the end of last season with a bit of a bizarre challenge, which I picked up my knee injury, but I rehabbed well and feel really good now,' he added.
