Josh McEachran set to sign for Brentford after failing to establish himself at Chelsea

Josh McEachran is set to end his long association with Chelsea by signing a permanent deal at Brentford.

The 22-year-old midfielder, seen as the bright young thing of Stamford Bridge when he made his debut five years ago, is moving to Griffin Park on a four-year contract.

McEachran shone when England Under-17s won 2010 European Championship and Chelsea that year's FA Youth Cup and in 2011 penned a five-year deal believed to be worth £30,000 per week.

But his career failed to ignite as expected and he went on five loan moves to establish his credentials, first at Swansea, then Middlesbrough, Watford, Wigan and Vitesse Arnhem.

McEachran could thrive at Brentford, who are looking to try again for promotion to the Premier League this coming season.
