Diogo Jota has already written his name in the Liverpool history books after scoring the club's 10,000th goal against Champions League opponents Midtjylland on Tuesday.
The £41million signing, who also scored the 9,999th goal after netting the winner against Sheffield United, finished from close range after being played in by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The winger has made a promising start to his Anfield career with three goals in his first eight games since signing from Wolves in September.
Liverpool's first ever goal was scored by Jock Smith in 1892 and Jota joins an impressive list of history-makers which includes Terry McDermott, Michael Owen and John Aldridge.
McDermott scored the 6,00th goal in the Charity Shield against West Ham in 1980 which was enough to give the Reds a 1-0 victory.
Aldridge scored the club's 7,000th goal in a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in 1989 while Owen netted the 8,000th in a 3-3 draw with Southampton in 2000.
Ten years later, Sotirios Kyrgiakos scored the 9,000th but the scoreline was less memorable as it came in a 2-1 defeat by Blackpool.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who scored five goals during his Anfield career, tweeted to say he was happy to have played his part in the club reaching 10,000.
But Carragher was also known for scoring at the wrong end of the pitch and ex-team-mate Dietmar Hamann jokingly asked whether own goals counted towards the total, given the defender put eight in his own net.
Jota said he was proud to have notched the landmark goal for Jurgen Klopp's side but insisted he was happier to help his team to an important three points against a resolute Midtjylland side.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Jota said: 'Well it's a start. Obviously I'm happy to score and to help the team to achieve the win.
'Achieving that mark is always a good thing but I'm more happy with the victory today.
'After a good away win, it's important to keep on adding points and we did our job. We get the three points, that's most important, and now we [need to be] ready for the next game.'
