Julian Alvarez has revealed he will make a decision on his future after the Olympics, with the forward admitting he "doesn't like being left out" of "important games" for Manchester City.
Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad this summer, with Atletico Madrid eyeing the forward as a potential replacement for Alvaro Morata after he left to join AC Milan.
And when asked about his future while competing for Argentina at the Paris Olympics, Alvarez told DIRECTV Sports : "I haven't stopped to think about what I'm going to do. When this [the Olympics] is over I'll start thinking about what I want for myself.
"We'll see how things go. Last season I was one of the players who played the most minutes in the team. But it's true: in the end, in important games, you don't like being left out and you want to contribute."
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with Alvarez, but City will demand a huge fee for the 24-year-old who is under contract until 2028. City boss Pep Guardiola has since responded to Alvarez's comments, stating: "He said he'd think about it.
"When he finished thinking about it, his agent is going to call Txiki [Begiristain] and we see what happens. I know he wants to play important moments, yeah. But the other ones [do] too. 18, 19 players as well want to play the big games.
"I read he wants to think about it. Okay, think about it and after that he will inform us what he wants to do. He plays a lot, he wants more? That's fine. That why, think about it. When he thinks about it he'll inform us."
Guardiola has also insisted once again that Kevin De Bruyne will not be going anywhere this summer, with the Belgian entering the final year of his contract amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
"The club inform me that they didn't get an offer," Guardiola explained. "To leave needs an offer. I don't know what is going happen but I'd love for him to stay. Like what happen with David [Silva] and the other players.
"He earned the credit to decide his future for himself. For what he has done for this club is massive. That's why he has to decide. The info I have right now he is going to stay."

I think Bernardo is the only player Pep forced to stay. He did Everything possible to let Bernardo stay. Here in Alvarez case, I don't see much force from Pep, so, I think this time Pep will force Alvarez to stay

From Guadiolas responds I think Alvarez should actually leave because if he ends up staying the Pep that I know will bench him now purposely. Alvarez played lots of matches last season and he’s still complaining. Pep doesn’t take that lightly
