Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt, who reportedly has a shockingly low release clause, could serve as an alternative to Callum Hudson-Odoi for Bayern Munich.
There's no question Bayern Munich are in for a big summer. Veteran wing duo Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are in their final season at the club, while long-time backup full-back Rafinha is seeing his final days in Munich as well.
These already confirmed departures, along with the possibility of some other current players being sold before the end of the year, mean Bayern are in need of serious reinforcements in the summer transfer window.
Speaking with Doppelpass a few days ago, Bayern president Uli Hoeness confirmed that his club already has some deals in place for the summer and that they are working on securing a few more.
Bild information suggests both Lucas Hernandez and Timo Werner have already agreed personal terms with the Bavarians. Hernandez will join from Atletico Madrid in the summer after failing to move in the winter, while Timo Werner could either come this summer or the next.
Bayern are apparently still very interested in Chelsea teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 18-year-old Englishman stands as their primary transfer target for the wings. However, Die Roten are considering other options in case a deal for Hudson-Odoi cannot be completed.
One player on the Bayern radar is Bayer 04 Leverkusen's 22-year-old star Julian Brandt. Bild reported earlier this week that Brandt has a release clause set at just €25 million, a shockingly low fee for a player of his talent level.
It's no strange thing for the Germany international to be linked with a move to Munich, as is the case once again. The German champions are apparently monitoring Brandt as a potential alternative to Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Though Brandt is not really the same type of player as Hudson-Odoi, he would still make a great addition to the Bayern Munich squad — especially for just €25 million. He has traditionally featured as a winger, but he is more than capable of playing centrally as well.
His versatility could be huge for Bayern Munich, who could use a player that can fill in at multiple positions in attack. In fact, even if the Bavarians do sign Callum Hudson-Odoi, triggering Brandt's release clause and bringing him to Bavaria might not be the worst idea anyway.

Even as a Chelsea fan, I'd keep Odoi and still sign this guy for that price...we need to freshen up our wings with something different

i am still reluctant, i find he is good but jeong should be given a chance! he is ridiculously good in the wings!
I think now is not the right time to test players ability... Every Bundesliga match is important for us... Also, I think Kovac might mess things up if he tries to integrate him in the starting line up...

I don't think Bayern require Julian Brand or Hudson Odoi as Bayern already have Gnabry, Thomas Muller, Coman to play in wide areas, Bayern should get Timo Werner this summer and give chance to academy players like Shabani or Jeong Woo-Yeong so that they can get good experience and be ready for the real game, when given chance then only they can develop like Sancho or Hudson-Odoi and Bayern does not have to look into some other club's new talents.
