The fallout from Karim Benzema's acrimonious World Cup exit continues after the Real Madrid star unfollowed almost all of his former French teammates on Instagram.
Benzema departed Les Bleus prior to the tournament in Qatar, with the French Football Federation citing an injury.
However, it has since transpired that Benzema's knock wasn't a long-term injury and he returned to Madrid training before France's World Cup final, with reports suggesting he rejected the opportunity to return to the Middle East amid a fallout with coach Didier Deschamps.
And now Marca reports that Benzema has performed a cull of his social media, unfollowing all but five of his former teammates on the national squad, who are Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane and Marcus Thuram.

the problem began when the coach said he won't take injured players... then some few players got injured and were sent home, Benzema also got injured then he wanted special treatment but the coach had to be fair to all players and that's what happened and it caused conflicts because the coach was reminded that he has to be consistent to all players and that meant the coach had to tell Benzema to leave camp but he made him a favor that he won't replace him so that if they win, he will still get a medal... the coach did that because he had to maintain peace at his squad and he did the right thing even though he wanted to make an exception for Benzema but the squad refused, that's why Benzema is angry at them and unfollowed everyone... Benzema knows and knew what the coach said before the world cup, he must be a man and don't take things personal... there were 3 French players who were sent home because of injuries but he wanted to remain even when he was injured, which wouldn't be fair at all.
