Diletta Leotta - the TV presenter partner of Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius - has opened up on football fans making her feel uncomfortable in stadiums and revealed how a teacher harassed her at school.

The couple have been together since October last year and are now expecting their first child.

In an interview with Grazia magazine in Italy, Leotta, who fronts DAZN's Serie A coverage, spoke about how she has been subjected to lewd chants while presenting at matches.

'Sometimes I have the feeling that all eyes are on me, which embarrasses me,' she said. 'Annoying looks, raunchy ones.

'Or the vulgar singing in the stadium, which fortunately has stopped in the meantime.'

Leotta, 31, also talked about a bad experience when she was a teenager.

'I had one ugly experience when I was young,' she said. 'My gym teacher slapped my butt and said something like, 'You make me want to dunk that cookie.'

'I didn't understand what he wanted to tell me, I just didn't get it.'

Leotta's father was a lawyer and the teacher was immediately suspended and left the school.

She also spoke about how a high school teacher blamed her for 'distracting the class' because she was wearing leggings ahead of a PE lesson.

Leotta went on to recall the first time she met German goalkeeper Karius, who signed for Newcastle last September having seen his Liverpool career unravel following two calamitous errors in their 2018 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

'I was at the Paris fashion shows with some friends and we went to dinner at Hotel Costes,' she said.

'Then, when he entered, he lit up the room, as if the sun had entered. I said to the girls, "look, the man of my life has entered."

'Loris went to sit with some friends and of course he noticed us watching. As he left he leaned over and looked at me. And I said, "Oh god, girls, he chose me."

'With us was Barbara Berlusconi [daughter of the late Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi], who speaks excellent English and said, "come on, let's go and meet him."

'I didn't speak English, I was ashamed, but she made him sit down with us and we've been in contact ever since.'

Leotta revealed the couple have not yet chosen the name for their daughter. 'There is an ongoing discussion. At the moment, I'm leaning between Ophelia, Rose and Bella, but I think I'll choose at the last minute, when I'll look into her eyes for the first time.'
