West Ham's Karren Brady more than doubled her salary in 2022 - picking up a cool £2.24m.
The club’s vice-chairman, who was paid £1.33m in 2021, pocketed a one-off £1m bonus - which is understood to have been in recognition for her role in bringing billionaire investor Daniel Kretinsky to the table.
The Czech bought 27 per cent of the club in November last year and is thought to be likely to substantially increase that stake in the future with a full takeover on the cards at the London Stadium.
Club insiders say, even including the bonus, Brady’s renumeration remains well below that of certain male counterparts elsewhere in chief executive roles in the Premier League.
The sum, for example, is thought to be around a third of what Daniel Levy earns at London rivals Tottenham.
Regardless, the Baroness and star of the Apprentice has now earned close to £13m since joining West Ham in 2011.
Any sale of West Ham is likely to take place after March 2023, when a clause which commits current owners David Gold and David Sullivan to pay penalties to the taxpayer should the club be sold for more than £300m expires.
