Peter Schmeichel has suggested his son Kasper could quit Leicester – because Claude Puel can’t get the best out of him.
Leicester sit 12th, having lost five of their last six games in the Premier League and FA Cup.
Puel has come under heavy criticism for his dour, defensively-minded style of management, which is understood to have left the players uninspired.
Schmeichel, 32, is currently first choice at the King Power Stadium.
His father, the Manchester United legend, said: ”Leicester City are a really good football club.
“They’ve got good players – they just don’t have the manager who can get the best out of them.
“Once they get everything sorted out, and I leave it to you to interpret what that means, you’ll see Leicester maybe in fifth to eighth place, where they belong.
“Of course Kasper wants to challenge himself like any other player. But I don’t think he fancies Europe.
“I think he loves England too much, I think he likes the Premier League too much, so it’s a difficult one.”

I was all for puel, and just blaming the squad. But it’s obvious to me now. He must go! We have put to the pitch one of the youngest starting 11 in the premier league in the past weeks. I believe that if these youngsters could grow under the right leader, we will finish in the top 7 next season. It’s time! Or else we will end up like Southampton. It’s a young team, with a shot. It’s time to make a change! Sooner, rather than later!
