Ki-Jana Hoever made history on Monday night when he became the third-youngest player to make his debut for Liverpool during their FA Cup defeat by Wolves.
The talented defender, who replaced Dejan Lovren after just six minutes, also set a new record as the club's youngest player in the competition, having taken to the field at just 16 years and 354 days old.
Hoever sits behind only Jerome Sinclair (16 years and six days) and Jack Robinson (16 years and 250 days) in the list of Liverpool's youngest ever players, but where are the other two now after such bright starts to their careers?
Jack Robinson
Robsinson became the youngest player in Liverpool's history on May 9, 2010, when he came on as a late substitute during a Premier League game with Hull.
A product of the club's youth academy, Robinson had worked his way up the ranks after joining when he was just nine years old.
The Warrington-born left back was given a chance by Rafa Benitez in his last game as manager, but didn't get another first-team opportunity until April, 2011.
After coming off the bench in a draw with Arsenal, Robinson made his first start for the Reds in a 5-0 thrashing of Birmingham a week later.
He saw his chances further restricted following the signing of Jose Enrique that summer and made just two League Cup appearances during the 2011-12 campaign.
Six more appearances followed in 2012-13 before he was loaned to Championship outfit Wolves, where he played 11 times as the club were relegated.
Robinson spent the entirety of the 2013-14 season on loan at second tier Blackpool, making 34 appearances as the Tangerines finished 20th.
He eventually left Anfield permanently in the summer of 2014, joining QPR on a four-year contract before immediately signing for Huddersfield on loan.
Now an England Under 21 international, Robinson nailed down the left back spot at the John Smith's Stadium before a serious knee injury ended his season.
He returned to QPR in March 2015 and made just one appearance for the club the following season after finally fighting his way back to full fitness.
Only seven Championship appearances followed during the 2016-17 campaign, before he earned a regular spot, playing 34 times for the Rs last season.
Robinson scored his first two senior goals during an away victory at Birmingham in December, 2017, but declined a new contract at Loftus Road, instead joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer last summer.
The defender has so far made 25 appearances for Aitor Karanka's side, who are seventh in the Championship table and pushing for promotion.
Jerome Sinclair
Sinclair usurped Robinson as Liverpool's youngster ever player on September 26, 2012, when he came off the bench during a League Cup win over his former club West Brom.
The pacey winger began his career with the Baggies, coming through their academy before joining Liverpool as a 14-year-old in 2011.
He continued his development with the club's youth sides, impressing enough to be called up to Brendan Rodgers' senior squad for the game at the Hawthorns.
Sinclair came on in the 81st minute of the 2-1 victory, but did not play for the first team for the rest of the season or during the entire 2013-14 campaign.
He went on loan to Championship side Wigan in March 2015 but made just one appearance before returning to make his Premier League debut as a substitute during a draw at Chelsea on May 10.
Sinclair, who represented England at Under 16 and 17 level, played his first game of the 2015-16 season against Exeter in the FA Cup, scoring his first goal in a 2-2 draw.
Liverpool rejected a bid of Β£1.5million from Watford for the winger in the same month and shortly afterwards he agreed to join them on a free transfer when his contract expired at the end of the season.
The Hornets were forced to pay compensation of Β£4m for Sinclair, who eventually made his debut for the club in December, 2016.
He went on to make six appearances before being sent on loan to Birmingham in January, 2017, and played a further five games for the Championship side.
Sinclair managed just 27 minutes of Premier League football for Watford last season and was deemed surplus to requirements by boss Javi Gracia last summer.
The 22-year-old joined League One side Sunderland on loan this season and has already made 18 appearances, scoring twice so far.

Was really talented back at Ajax and was really bummed he went to Liverpool. Insane that he's already making his debut even if its cause of all the injuries.

This guy was 10 months old when James Milner made his PL debut for Leeds. That's crazy.

No doubt it'll be Fab at the back with VVD at Brighton with Hoever on the bench in case

For a 16 year old making his debut alongside a partner with minimal CB experience and limited English, with another kid as his fullback and Mignolet behind him I think he did superbly. Bright future ahead of him

We need a center back in the window to cover for our injury prone Lovren, Gomez and Matip...Hoever is only 16, which surely can't be a viable option unless he's somehow the second coming of Maldini

He has the height, composure and ability on the ball. I can see him contesting for a place in the senior team within 2 years. Great to see youth getting a chance.

Too easily pushed off the ball. Did well for such a young lad though

He doesn't have to be directly at fault for the goals, it's a team sport. He's decision making isn't reflected in the stats, his ball control, his clearances, his passing, his movement, him holding the line, the cover Milner had to provide to him.

I'm happy for the youngster to get a run out, but those stats don't tell the true story. The kid struggled out there today.

Robinson was decent, but became arrogant and thought he'd already made it (which unfortunately happens a lot in todays football). Sinclair was ruined by Ward, his agent, another who thought he deserved everything straight away.

It's not easy to secure a long term place at a elite team like Liverpool who can go out and spend Β£30 million or more on a player and not a blink a eye lid and it's not a failure of a career if you end up playing a few leagues lower down and still earning a living playing the sport you love.

If Liverpool does not sign another defender in January ( even on loan) I have a feeling they will be doomed and lose the first place very fast.
