Only Germany and Brazil have played over 100 matches in World Cup history...

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 22nd edition of the marquee football event. It is going to be held in Qatar and will kick off on December 21. The final is due to be held on 18 December 2022, which is also Qatar National Day.

29 teams have already qualified and the eight groups have been drawn as well. Brazil, the most successful nation in World Cups, have been placed in Group G along with Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon. Meanwhile, Argentina are in Group C with Saudi Arabia, Poland and Mexico.

Brazil are also the only nation to have participated in every edition of the tournament by qualifying directly without the need for play-offs. They hold the record of playing the most number of matches (109) in World Cup history along with Germany, and have the most number of wins (73) as well. The European nation comes second after Brazil in the all-time winning charts with 67 victories to their name. In fact, no other team have registered more than 50 victories other than these two.

Italy, one of the traditional heavyweights, come third in the list with 45 wins. Whereas, Lionel Messi's Argentina are fourth with 43 triumphs to their name. If Argentina goes on to lift the World Cup in Qatar without losing any of their matches, then they can become the third team with 50 wins in the tournament history.
