Kieran Trippier is the third most creative player at the World Cup

England wing back Kieran Trippier has been one of the stars of the World Cup so far for the Three Lions with his brilliant and dangerous deliveries from the right.

Through his corners and crosses, Trippier has been among the most creative players at the tournament, making 12 clear chances for England so far.

This puts the Tottenham defender third on the list of chance-creating players in Russia so far - with only two superstars ahead of him.

According to Opta, Brazil forward Neymar heads up the list of the most creative players at the World Cup, having created 16 openings for the South Americans to score.

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne meanwhile, star of Manchester City's Premier League winning side, is second with 13 chances created.

Then, above several world stars, comes Trippier, tied on 12 with Mexico's former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela.

The chances created stat is meant to represent more accurately how creative and dangerous a player has been with crosses, through balls and key passes, rather than assists - which require a goalscorer to put away the chance created for them.

It means that Trippier has, so far, been a more creative force than the likes of Eden Hazard, Mesut Ozil, Luka Modric, and even Lionel Messi.

With England through to the quarter finals, where they face Sweden, there are plenty more opportunities for Trippier to show what he can do.
