Watford have confirmed that Kiko Femenia has joined Villarreal on a three-year deal - ending his five-year stay at Vicarage Road.
The full-back, 31, returns to Spain after expressing a wish to return to his homeland to be closer to his family and will link up with new boss Unai Emery.
Femenia joined the Hornets in 2017, and went on to play 151 times for the club, scoring two goals.
During his spell at Watford, the Spanish defender reached the FA Cup Final with the club in 2019 and was part of the promotion winning squad in 2021.
Earlier this week Femenia sent an emotional message to Watford fans on his Instagram account, where he said he would 'always carry you in my heart'.
Femenia could be followed out the door by Watford's 19-year-old striker Kwadwo Baah, who's set for a loan move to Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Baah joined Watford from Rochdale last summer, but is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club and is now on the verge of joining German side Dusseldorf.
Watford have already strengthened their attack this summer, ahead of Rob Edwards' first season in charge. Bringing in Vakoun Issouf Bayo from Charleroi and Barcelona front man Rey Manaj.
Edwards' side begin their Championship campaign on Monday night when they play host to Sheffield United.
