Klopp: There was nothing about tonight's game I liked

Jurgen Klopp says there is nothing about Liverpool's 1-0 loss to Leicester City on Tuesday night that he likes.

"We had quite a few chances. I think we were close to scoring - it wouldn't have made the game better actually. If I would sit here, I know it's easy to say, and would have won it 2-1, which was obviously possible, I wouldn't have liked the game anyway. Then you can say these things like, 'Yes you can win dirty, winning the dirty games is very important.' It's all true but not tonight, I didn't like a lot in our football game to be honest and that's not cool. That's not why we do it. So we have to do better and we have a few days to talk it through, think it through, improve and go again."

The Liverpool boss says his squad's game was poor and if they continue to play at such a standard they can forget about catching up to Manchester City in the title race.

"We forced it a little bit too early. We crossed it too early, the balls in the first half, instead of passing the extra pass. If you do that then all of a sudden the situation looks completely different. We tried to change that in half time, but for some reason it didn't click tonight."

"It was not our plan tonight to make it, to give (Manchester) City the chance to run away or whatever. But if we play like tonight, we don't have to think about catching up to City. But if we play normal football we can win football games. Then we have to see how often, how many points we can get and then we will see what that means. But how is that, I don't have a proper explanation for tonight but to find an explanation is my main concern and not, in this moment, the gap to City."
