As the two sides go head to head for the title, the Reds manager has admitted that Pep Guardiola's men are setting an incredible standard
Pep Guardiola's side set a Premier League record by reaching 100 points last term, and will achieve a total of 98 this season if they win both of their remaining matches.
And Klopp could only marvel at that blistering pace, telling Goal and DAZN: "If City win all their games, then I can only congratulate them. It is quite simple. They will have had an amazing season, an incredible campaign.
"They had an unbelievable 2017-18 season and almost matched their points tally from that year. That’s absolute madness.
"You can only admire such consistency. I can’t say anything bad about that.
"We don’t want to win the league because City lose, but because we win. So if City win the league, they will have deserved it."

Madness won't be the appropriate word I will chose to described Guardiola's 100 and 98 points mark in two seasons but marvelous. It shows the importance of consistency and continuity in soccer. Somehow he keeps his players hungry and at their toes every season, no comfort zone, no relaxation after trophy. Gradually he might be entering into his third and final season in charge at City with one season remaining, the 2019/2020 campaign. It will be a make or break for Guardiola and City in UCL just like Barca and Bayern's job in other previous seasons, only time will tell if City will stand the test of time when their Blues changes to Reggae after his departure.
