A beaming Jurgen Klopp made sure to shower his youngsters in praise after Rhys Williams and Curtis Jones stole the headlines in a top-of-the-table showdown with Tottenham.
Amid a mounting injury crisis Klopp was forced to hand Williams a Premier League debut and push the 19-year-old in the deep end against Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
But the former non-league player stood up to the challenge and put in a resounding performance in the heart of defence alongside Fabinho, while in the midfield engine room fellow teenager Jones helped the Reds dominate possession while breaking up play at will.
Speaking to Amazon Prime after his side secured victory courtesy of a 90th minute Roberto Firmino header, Klopp said: 'Oh my god! Outstanding. Rhys Williams. It's nowadays playing against the Alan Shearer with Harry Kane. They avoid Rhys and put Fabinho for the long balls.
'Rhys was so strong in the air. He played a pass for our first goal and has the right amount of confidence so you don't have to explain how it works.'
Klopp hailed the versatility and simplicity of the young defender, who up until Wednesday's fixture had featured only in European fixtures for the Reds.
Klopp added: 'He kept it simple and didn't drop too early. Incredible game.'
Turning his attention to Jones, who scooped man of the match for his efforts, Klopp appeared lost for words as his broad smile instead dominated the screen.
Reacting as though such a high level of performance was a given from such a talented youngster, Klopp said: 'It's Curtis. He's already here thankfully for years. A top class player.'
The result sees reigning champions Liverpool back on top with a three point margin, ahead of their fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Klopp's men go up against a former manager of the club in Roy Hodgson, for the day's early kick off at 12.20pm.
