Mohamed Salah has announced he'll be leaving Liverpool at the end of the current season having cemented himself as an Anfield legend
Jurgen Klopp warned Arne Slot about how hard Mohamed Salah can be to manage at Liverpool after his rant last year. The Egyptian will wave goodbye to Anfield at this season's end.
Having arrived at the club in 2017, Salah has been nothing short of a hero. He has scored over 250 goals, won four Premier League Golden Boots, and helped the Reds secure two top-flight titles and the Champions League.
The 33-year-old penned a new two-year deal last year but made the announcement this week that the current season will be his last as a Liverpool player. This comes a few months after he hit out at the club and manager Slot, claiming that someone was trying to force him out of Anfield.
During this faux pas, former manager Klopp's admission from a 2025 documentary about Salah rang relevant as Slot endeavoured to address the problem.
The public fallout occurred in December, after the Egyptian spoke following a disappointing 3-3 draw against Leeds United. He alleged he had been "thrown under the bus" in light of poor results and said he had "no relationship" with Slot, having been benched for three consecutive matches.
Salah's issues were soon papered over, but speaking in a BBC One documentary titled 'Mo Salah - Never Give Up' that was released soon after the incident, Klopp alluded to the fact that the 33-year-old is not the simplest of players to coach.
Klopp said: "We are all massively influenced by our past - how we were raised, where we grew up. Mo knew early on [in his life] that he had to do more than others. He always developed. He never stops. That is his mindset. After each summer break he came back and had a new skill. It was like he had spent the whole time just practising one particular type of pass.
"We pushed each other, just to make sure that we would never stop. And we never did stop. That moment lifting the Premier League bonded us for life. He will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.
"I wouldn't say he is easy to manage, but he is also not difficult to manage. You [only] have problems with Mo Salah if he is not playing or you take him off."
These problems arose when Slot benched Salah, but the quarrels soon subsided, with the Dutch head coach admitting he had smoothed things over.
Now, Salah is set to leave the club a bona fide legend and his emotional farewell video ended with this: "I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the team-mates, past and present.
"And to the fans: I don't have enough words. The support you showed me through the best time of my career and you stood by me in the toughest times. It's something I will never forget, and something I will take with me always.
"Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home, to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."

Salah was right. Someone was trying to force him out. He's never had a low goal tally like this season. This is not the Salah we knew something fishy is going on within the club. Some negative forces probably might be responsible

I, think salah was just performing very nice with his sguad or those past, season, Trent, was feeding him with long ranger, for him to run, but now the hole sguard no one who, s doing that, other sguard was doing, is better for him to go bcz, the team is not going in the same mind, again everyone want to be the key player of the team, that why, they,ar struggling to win games, only smart coach can win with this team,

Nah I disagree even though I'm not a Liverpool fan ,Slot isn't a bad Coach he won you a league in his 1st season something that isn't easy to be done in the English football ⚽. The only problem that cost Liverpool dearly was to let Diaz go & he was never replaced all those who were signed aren't better than him instead they're average, I mean Diaz was a workaholic player like Mane. Honestly speaking Wirtz hasn't done anything better than Nunez & Diaz, the injured Isak was so unlucky to be injured so that's not Slot's fault that his best signings has performed to their expectations so to say it was wrong to hire Slot isn't right
