Manchester City were comfortable winners against Arsenal in their opening Premier League fixture on Sunday and statistics show they enjoyed physical dominance over the rest of the division too.
Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva both scored in a routine 2-0 win over the Gunners at the Emirates and the figures prove Pep Guardiola's side ran the hard yards to secure three points.
Portuguese star Silva and defender Kyle Walker respectively topped the charts for distance covered and top speed in the first round of fixtures of the new season.
Silva slammed home an audacious half volley to wrap up the three points in the second-half and got through a lot of work in North London, running 12.69 kilometres in total.
Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin finished second in the standings with 12.59km as he battled to gain midfield dominance against newly-promoted side Wolves.
The evergreen James Milner was part of Liverpool's midfield trio that ran all over West Ham at Anfield and he clocked up a total distance of 12.55km. Tottenham's Christian Eriksen managed the same distance as Milner in their 2-1 win over Newcastle.
Arsenal duo Matteo Guendouzi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both finished in the top six as they exerted a lot of energy trying to combat City's slick midfield at the Emirates Stadium. Youngster Guendouzi totaled 12.16km while his Armenian colleague ran 12.12km.
Everton's Idrissa Gueye (11.72km), City's Ilkay Gundogan (11.61km), Hector Bellerin of Arsenal (11.61km), Jonathan Hogg (11.59km) of Huddersfield and Mohamed Diame (11.58km) of Newcastle completed the top 10.
There was also so much pace about City's performance in North London and right back Walker showed his speed up and down the wing all afternoon.
The England defender boasts the fastest recorded sprint of the opening weekend with his best of 34.84km/h.
Burnley winger Aaron Lennon showed there was still some life in his 31-year-old legs at St Mary's. The former Tottenham man posted a speed of 34.83km/h but couldn't help find a way through against Southampton.
Known for his unrelenting pace, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came in at 34.75km/h while City substitute Kevin De Bruyne came in fourth with 34.57km/h.
Brighton attacker Anthony Knockaert ranked fifth with 34.33km/h and Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, who scored the opening goal in their comfortable win over Cardiff, came narrowly behind on 34.14km/h.
West Ham's Ryan Fredericks (34.06km/h), Cardiff winger Josh Murphy (34.01km/h), Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure (34.00km/h) and Demarai Gray of Leicester (33.99km/h) rounded off the top 10.
