Kyle Walker uses Harry Maguire meme to troll title rivals Liverpool

Leicester's equaliser against Liverpool on Wednesday night gave Manchester City hope in the Premier League title race - and Kyle Walker the perfect excuse to bring out a Harry Maguire meme.

The Foxes defender struck to earn his side a 1-1 draw at Anfield and prevent Jurgen Klopp's men from extending their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

It meant that City fell just a point - rather than three - further behind Liverpool in the title race following their surprise defeat at Newcastle on Tuesday.

Walker took to social media on Thursday afternoon to poke fun at Mohamed Salah and Co after they dropped points, sharing the popular image of goalscorer Maguire talking to his partner Fern Hawkins during last summer's World Cup in Russia.

Alongside the photo, which was taken after England's dramatic penalty shootout win over Colombia, Walker tweeted: 'So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead...'.

However, the tweet only remained online for around 10 minutes as Walker appeared to react to an online backlash by deleting it.

The picture of Maguire, which shows him chatting to his girlfriend with one arm resting on a glass barrier, went viral during the Three Lions' run to the semi-finals.

The Leicester defender became a fans' favourite during the tournament and even tweeted the photo himself, adding the caption: 'Can You ask the neighbours to put the bins out on Monday? We're not going home just yet'.
