Latest Kylian Mbappe transfer news as Chelsea are linked with a move for the PSG star with Real Madrid also said to be keen on signing the France star in the summer window

Kylian Mbape has sparked possibly one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer in recent days. The Paris Saint-Germain star has reportedly decided against triggering the option in his contract to extend his stay past 2024.

The France international committed his future to the French giants last summer, signing a two-year deal with a reported option to extend it by a year. However, it now seems that the forward will not be taking that opportunity and could leave in the next few months.

PSG run the risk of losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season due to clubs outside of France being open to agree a pre-contract deal with him in January. After spending over £150million to acquire his services back in 2017, it’s likely that the French giants will want to recoup some of that.

In a reply to French outlet Le Parisien, Mbappe said: “LIES…At the same time, the bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue next season at PSG where I am very happy,”

Following news of his likely exit out of Parc des Princes, bookmakers have made Real Madrid the favourites to land Mbappe. According to bet365, remaining in Paris is the most favourable option at a very short 1/2.

Real are 11/4 to sign the 24-year-old, ahead of Manchester United at 11/2 and Chelsea at 14/1. Treble-winners Man City are backed at 33/1, alongside Newcastle, while a move to Saudi Arabia is tipped at 40/1.

Liverpool (40/1), Arsenal and Bayern Munich (50/1) are less likely to complete the signing, leaving Real in pole position to complete the blockbuster move.
