Kylian Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Chelsea look set to rival the Spanish giants for his signature

Chelsea have reportedly joined Liverpool and Real Madrid the race to sign Kylian Mbappe. The 24-year-old forward faces an increasingly uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain, with his contract in the French capital set to expire at the end of next season.

With Mbappe expected to seek pastures new, whether it be this summer or next, the Blues have reportedly entered the race to sign him this summer. According to the Daily Record, Chelsea are attempting to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal to bring the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge.

The report states that the Parisians have encouraged the west Londoners' efforts to secure the forward following direct discussions with Todd Boehly over a potential transfer. Daily Record add that Real Madrid have not entered talks with PSG since Mbappe was made available for sale for €250million (£214m).

"Everything you talk is too much noise. It is a situation that is very delicate and one they need to fix in Paris with Kylian. For our side I have nothing to say. We are working on our reality, our reality is different. From my side, nothing to say, only to supporter them.

"I hope they find a solution for both sides. It is a club that I love, because I was a player, a captain and coach. With Kylian we create a very good relationship, I hope they can find the best solution for both sides."

While Boehly may have entered talks with PSG, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can compete with Real Madrid and Liverpool with Champions League football not on offer this season.
