LIKE A MODEL: Ousmane Dembele - French wonderkid represents the future of Barca

Born in Vernon, Dembélé began his career at Rennes before joining Dortmund in 2016. He won the DFB-Pokal with die Borussen in the 2016–17 season, scoring a goal in the final. A year later, he transferred to Barcelona for an initial fee of €105 million, becoming at the time the joint-second most expensive footballer ever alongside compatriot Paul Pogba. 

After an injury-hampered debut campaign, the Frenchman has established himself as a key player at the Camp Nou and has contributed 13 goals and eight assists this season. The winger possesses electric pace and is equally adept with both feet, which makes him even trickier for defenders to deal with.

In France Dembele is viewed through the prism of his controversies, those are the stories which make it into the public eye back home.

The winger has not earned a starting berth in the national team, only participating in brief cameos during the World Cup in Russia. His position on the scale between clown and genius is still being debated in France.
