Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has confirmed that forward Brian Brobbey will miss Thursday's Europa League match away to Lech Poznan but is expected to return for Sunday's Premier League clash against Leeds United.
Brobbey has been recovering from a hamstring injury and, although he has rejoined full team training, Sunderland has decided to manage his return cautiously to prevent re-injury by rushing his comeback.
Le Bris stated: "Brobbey is in good condition and has been training with the team for the past 10 days. With hamstring injuries, the most important thing is not to rush it. He will not play tomorrow, but he will be ready for Leeds United."
Sunderland has won both of their first two Europa League group stage matches this season. The team will travel to Poland for the third group match to face Lech Poznan, aiming to continue their strong momentum.
Additionally, Le Bris provided updates on the recovery of Thomas Meunier and Wilson Isidor, confirming that both players are progressing well but did not specify a return date.
Le Bris added: "Thomas and Wilson are both doing well at the moment, and we will see if they can be ready to return soon."
