League One Verdict: Promoted Accrington Stanley can repeat the feat

Following another weekend of League One action, Sportsmail's TOM FARMERY takes a closer look and presents the things we learned.

HERO OF THE WEEK

JOHN COLEMAN (Accrington manager): The idea of Accrington challenging for back-to-back promotions seemed fanciful at the start of the season after they lost a key player in Kayden Jackson, who was bought by Ipswich. But they are showing the same level of togetherness that got them promoted last term.

Billy Kee and Sean McConville, two of last year's stars, have also taken well to the third tier. Both scored in the 3-1 win over Bradford on Saturday. Coleman continues to deliver on a limited budget.

ZERO OF THE WEEK

IAN HENDERSON (Rochdale striker): He scored his seventh of the season against Doncaster but he's unlikely to focus on that after what could be the miss of the year.

Late in the first half he had an open goal from six yards after Brad Inman's shot was blocked. Henderson sent the ball on to the crossbar and over. Rochdale went on to lose 3-2.

GOAL OF THE WEEK

MAMADOU THIAM (for Barnsley v Luton): Luton defender Matthew Pearson's awful clearance landed at the feet of Thiam just inside the area. The 23-year-old Senegalese forward took three touches before firing a fierce strike into the top right corner.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

NEAL ARDLEY: 'It comes down to me as manager and that hurts me. I need to change things quickly or changes will probably get made.' The AFC Wimbledon boss was fearing for his job after a third successive defeat, 2-1 at home to Portsmouth, left his side just above the relegation zone.

STAT OF THE WEEK

SIX: Peterborough have won six of their seven away league games this season. Only League One leaders Portsmouth have won as many games on the road in the EFL this term. Peterborough won 2-0 at Scunthorpe on Saturday.
