One of the main stories surrounding Arsenal this summer has been their pursuit of Ben White.

The Gunners have already secured the services of central midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and left-back Nuno Tavares. But much of the hype has centered around White.

The 23-year-old is currently plying his trade for Brighton and was handed a chance in the first-team by Graham Potter in 2020/21 after a solid loan spell with Leeds in the Championship.

And White would indeed take that chance with both hands, showcasing all the qualities associated with a modern, ball-playing-defender.

White’s form this past season would even earn him a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.

Arsenal, for their part, have seen themselves linked for some time, with reports of a switch moving closer emerging back in June:

News then emerged earlier this week that White was set to undergo his medical with Arsenal on Wednesday.

And, on Friday, it appears that a deal for White is all but wrapped up.

An image doing the rounds on social media showcased White being presented as an Arsenal star alongside Mikel Arteta and Edu:

So whilst no official announcement has yet been forthcoming, it does look as though White will be announced as an Arsenal player imminently.
