Leeds 'eye £15m move for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson'

Newly promoted Leeds United are reportedly set to join a group of teams chasing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The Welshman has returned to Anfield following a season-long loan spell with Bournemouth, though is not expected to feature in manager Jurgen Klopp's long-term plans.

And now Marcelo Bielsa is looking to take the 23-year-old to Elland Road as one of his first signings in Leeds' new Premier League era, according to the Sun.

But it is said that the Yorkshire club will face stiff competition from both Newcastle and Aston Villa - the latter of which now have some money to spend after securing their top flight status on the last day of the season.

Leeds have funds following their promotion charge, as the hierarchy look to throw their backing behind Marcelo Bielsa following a successful season.

Liverpool had quoted teams £30million for Wilson last summer, before accepting a deal to see him switch temporarily to the south coast.

Wilson made an electric start to his time at the Vitality Stadium, scoring in each of his first two games for the Cherries.

By the end of November he had scored six goals in 13 Premier League games, and looked to be picking up where he left off the previous season following an eye-catching tenure with Derby County.

It is reported that Leeds are able to offer £15m for the Welshman, while Liverpool are said to have acknowledged a need to reduce their asking price.

Wilson remains contracted to Liverpool until 2023, meaning the Reds are under no pressure to sell.

Another option for Klopp and Liverpool is to sanction another loan move for Wilson, hoping he continues his upwards trajectory ahead of a potentially lucrative transfer next summer.
