O’Brien update

Reports began to emerge at the end of July linking Leeds with a move for Huddersfield central midfielder, Lewis O’Brien.

O’Brien would feature 42 times for the Terriers last term, notching three goals and three assists.

And it was claimed that Leeds have turned their attentions to the 22-year-old after missing out on Conor Gallagher who has since signed for Crystal Palace.

Now, a brief update on the situation has since been forthcoming courtesy of journalist Alan Nixon, who reported that Leeds are yet to meet Huddersfield’s valuation:

Matheus Cunha price-tag

Elsewhere, the fee required to sign Matheus Cunha appears to have been revealed.

Cunha is a 22-year-old Brazilian currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin.

Cunha is naturally a centre-forward, however, he spent most of the 2020/21 campaign operating from the left-wing for his club.

Leeds’ links to the forward began to emerge earlier in the summer window.

And now, reports stemming from Italy, which also mention Leeds’ interest in Cunha, claim that Hertha want around 21.5 million pounds for the South American.

Marco Asensio of interest

Finally, Leeds have found themselves linked with a Real Madrid star.

Marco Asensio would feature 48 times for Real last term, scoring seven goals and providing two assists along the way.

But despite featuring so heavily in 2020/21, talkSPORT, citing Spanish outlet Fichajes, claim that Asensio is now surplus to requirements under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

It is added that Everton, Leeds and Leicester will fight it out to sign Asensio ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
