The Lega Serie A have set up several working groups to help amidst the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic according to a report in today's print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Serie A is on hold for the foreseeable future due to the pandemic which has forced Italy into complete lock down as the Italian government attempt to contain the virus and stop it from spreading any further.

It is estimated that the stop has cost Serie A and the 20 participating clubs no less than €600 million in revenue, with a lot of that being made up by lost television revenue.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that due to the significant losses, particularly with the television revenue, Lega Serie A could seek help from the Italian government and ask them to compensate.

As things stand it is currently unclear when Serie A will start up again, if at all, but some reports have stated that Lega Serie A and the clubs all want to finish the season.
