Leicester and Fenerbahce are both interested in a move for AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in the summer, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira actually claimed back in December that Leicester had made enquiries over the former Leverkusen man, while Calciomercato.com added that an asking price of €20million has been set set.
According to the latest from the same outlet, Leicester did register their interest in Calhanoglu last month but did not manage to get a deal over the line.
However, both the Foxes and Turkish giants Fenerbahce are still keen on landing the 26-year-old, whose future with Milan is 'still to be written' – presumably meaning he will be assessed between now and the end of the season.
It has also been claimed that Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Calhanoglu by his agent during the January window, while Tuttosport credited Manchester United with interest.

okk..that's a pretty good analysis and I am happy to say I might be incorrect there a bit ..although I might disagree you a bit with maddison definitely starting at Liverpool as I think the mid requires a bit more defensive work than what maddison have shown so far but he might get there eventually..overall a fair assessment by you so thanks for that
This is the part of the Grealish v Maddison debate that people always over look... Grealish is a goal scoring LW/Cam and a great player but Maddison’s defending is 10x better and he can play as a true 8 or Free 8 as well as a CAM/free 10... The position that Maddison plays in he’s guaranteed to see much more of the ball threw out the game and he’s going to give you a shift defensively... Both make forward passes and bag assists and score goals... Plus Maddison’s set pieces are probably the best in the prem atm besides TAA’s

You want know something crazy... Brendon Rodgers has even spoke specifically about this in press conferences. He made the comparison between Jordan Henderson’s (his former player) and James Maddison’s defensive numbers in the prem this season. Madders has better defensive numbers in just about every meaningful category. 🤷♂️Henderson is regarded as a DM/CM and most people think Maddison is a CAM but it’s just not true... If you watched the wolves v Leicester match you would have seen Maddison tackling Adama Traore multiple times.. and Maddison already ran for 60 minutes when Traore had come on.. Maddison’s defending is seriously underrated. Also he plays a key part in Rodgers press at Leicester, he would have no problem in Klopps high energy defensive mid field system....

calhanoglu as maddison replacement would be a solid option for Leicester when maddison eventually decides to move

🤔Calhanoglu is a LW Maddison is a free 8... Plus word is Maddison is about to sign a new contract. He’s already under contract until 2023 and Leicester have CL next year. Liverpool is the only team that could turn Maddison’s head. He’s clearly better than any of Liverpool’s mid’s (he will actually play) and they are a step up but Liverpool won’t spend 80+ million ... City Chelsea United Arsenal would all be a step down either because a lack of playing time or a lack of CL... So idk if 2 years from now a 29 year old Cahlanoglu would be an option for a club who usually buy young and develop
