Leicester will not play goal celebration music against Burnley

Leicester have announced that they will not play any goal celebration music should they score against Burnley.

The club play their first home match at the King Power Stadium since the death of chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash following the 1-1 draw with West Ham two weeks ago.

They normally play Kasabian's Fire but won't on this occasion as they seek to set the right tone on a sombre occasion.

The club are also preparing a number of other tributes to Srivaddhanaprabha and those who died in the accident.

Kasabian, who are fronted by boyhood Foxes fans Tom Meighan and Sergio Pizzorno, have a long affinity with the club.

The band played a sold out gig at the King Power following City's title win in 2016, and their songs have been credited as a source of encouragement for that Premier League winning campaign.

Speaking back in 2015, then boss Claudio Ranieri said after a win over Sunderland: 'I think I know the Leicester fans very well. They are [passionate] supporters and I told my players "when you go on the pitch and you hear the song from Kasabian, that means they want warriors." I want to see them as warriors for the fans.

'Kasabian are a fantastic rock band from Leicester and I think the guitar man, Serge, is Italian. It’s good and I think they (the fans) love fighters. We are fighters.'
