Mauricio Pochettino has pleaded with Tottenham fans to show some love to 'tired' Daniel Levy after the club's stadium move hit further delays this week.
Levy apologised on Wednesday following confirmation that Tottenham will play their January 13 fixture with Manchester United at Wembley.
There is anger from fans over delays to the £1billion project but Pochettino said on Thursday: 'The chairman is suffering a lot. He is so tired about work. The last few months he didn't sleep because he is trying to deliver the stadium.
'I think people don't realise the magnitude of the project and how difficult it is to manage.
'Everyone is disappointed because we are still not playing there but the day we move everyone is going to realise how massive the project was and how good the facilities are.
'It doesn't just depend on him. When you build something, you depend on many companies.
'I think it's more than 20 that are working there. It's so, so difficult. That is why he needs to feel the love from the fans and the club.
'He is working so hard, too hard, to leave a legacy for ever. And I think that's fantastic.'
The club are in a race against time to play their Champions League last 16 tie in February at the new ground.
Otherwise they may be forced to play at a half-full Wembley.
As it stands the capacity is limited to 51,000 and local residents are fiercely opposing Tottenham's application for a temporary lifting of the cap.
Pochettino, meanwhile, laughed off rumours of interest from Real Madrid. 'I prefer that newspapers talk about things like this than, 'Tottenham is going to sack me', or 'people are tired of me'. I don't get bored (with the speculation) but he (Levy) maybe is worried,' joked Pochettino.
'He suffers because he's jealous about me! It's normal, no? He's a very jealous person.'

As with all major construction jobs of this magnitude there will always be unforeseen problems but the construction firms should have been honest with Daniel Levy from the start to be fair the stadium has come on a bomb recently

I think Levy wouldn't mind getting a little tired, considering he and Joe Lewis stands to eventually make over a billion pound profit on the back of a £70m+ investment (IIRC) to acquire Spurs. What is interesting though is the fact that the manager is defending the chairman - you don't see that too often.

Gets an assist on his return and still gets rubbish put on him. Ozil might as well leave us, he gets WAY too much abuse than he warrants.

this is what you get with Ozil. creating chances but suspect when defending off the ball. he's been always like this since Bremen days. if Emery can get the balance right, Ozil should stay because in terms of chance creation he's one of the best. however if he's a misfit in tactical terms, might be best for both parties to part ways due to his huge wage bill.

I am offended because I am an actual insomniac. I feel offended because this article reminds me of my pain. Who will pay for this insensitivity.
