After months of speculation and back and forth Robert Lewandowski arrived at Barcelona following eight seasons with Bayern Munich.
The Polish striker linked up with his new teammates in the United States, with the club currently undertaking their pre-season preparations.
The addition of Lewandowski is sure to boost Barcelona's title chances with the player himself keen on helping the team improve on all fronts. Speaking at his first conference as a Barcelona player, he highlighted how his main ambition is to help the club to secure silverware.
"If you play for Barcelona, you always think about winning titles, but things have to go step by step," Lewandowski said.
"With our potential, we can be up there and fight. This season will go better than last."
Having been part of the Bayern side that destroyed Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League a couple of seasons ago, he has said he has not been speaking about it with his new teammates.
"I have to admit that we haven't spoken about it," Lewandowski said.
"That's in the past and it's best to not look back. That's our way of thinking."
Lewandowski also touched on what he hopes to achieve with the team, stating that his teammates have been extremely helpful in helping him acclimatise to his new surroundings and that he hopes to score as many goals as he can.
"From the first day they [the Barcelona players] try to make things easier for me. That's a lot for me. I have to adapt to the team," Lewandowski said.
"I try to do my best. The most important thing is what we do as a team. I never say a figure of how many I want to score. The most important thing is what I do with the team and for the team.
"I always have it in my head to win the game and score the goal. It doesn't matter the game or the opponent. I'm always hungry to win.
"There is great potential in this team. We all have to go together step by step."
Following his arrival at the club, questions inevitably were asked about his relationship with Pep Guardiola who managed the Polish striker for two seasons at Bayern.
"I talked a lot with him [Guardiola] about tactics," Lewandowski said.
"After that, it's easier to adapt to any system. He changed my way of seeing football, of understanding it.
"For me it's not difficult to find solutions on the pitch because I've had great coaches. I think thanks to him it should be easier to adapt to what Xavi [Hernandez] asks".
