Lewandowski isn't the same player at major tournaments for Poland

Robert Lewandowski is a goalscoring machine and has been hitting the net on a more than regular basis for a decade now at club level.

His scoring record at both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich is seriously impressive, but the Poland striker still has one more objective to fulfil in his career.

Lewandowski is Poland's all-time leading scorer with 66 goals, but the forward has only ever managed two goals at a major international tournament.

Poland aren't the highest-scoring team in these competitions, but their main man's statistics aren't what you'd hope for from a striker of his quality.

In 12 games between the World Cup and the European championships, Lewandowski only managed to score twice: one against Portugal at Euro 2016 and another against Greece in Euro 2012.

He's had a total of 35 shots on goal, which makes his low scoring rate all the more surprising as he's one of the best converters of chances on the continent.

Poland now face Spain in their second group-stage match following their opening game defeat to Slovakia, with Lewandowski having failed to score from his last 17 attempts on goal with the national side in major competitions.
