Manchester United transfer target Nicolas Pepe is to be sold imminently, according to Lille president Gerard Lopez.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United this summer, with the the Red Devils reportedly making a Β£70 million bid.

The Ivory Coast winger scored 23 goals in 41 appearances last season as Lille finished second in Ligue 1, securing Champions League qualification.

Pepe, who has won 15 international caps, also featured in the Ligue 1 team of the season.

In an interview with French outlet La Viox du NordLille, the Lille president has confirmed the Ivorian is poised to complete a move away from Stade Pierre Mauroy.

'Our work is done,' Lopez said.

'In terms of departures and arrivals, if a player leaves, we will go and get what we need.

'For Nico, it is almost done and he could have left last summer.

'It is true that there are big offers and big clubs in for him, so I think (he will leave). Aside from that, you never know in football.'
