According to New York Times, before the game which saw Manchester United drew Chelsea 1-1, a well-known member of club staff was overhead brutally ripping into four players – with Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Romelu Lukaku all coming under fire.
On Lindelof, the individual in question expressed a belief that the Sweden international was a competent player – but one unable to tackle.
They believe the Sweden international is a player who is a stark contrast to dominant United defenders of old such as Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Gary Pallister.
But Lindelof was not the only United star who came in for criticism.
The United staff member also expressed their bafflement at Chris Smalling and Phil Jones still being at the club.
The consensus was that he thought the duo were never good enough for United in the first place.
And Sir Alex Ferguson’s judgement was also questioned, with the member believing the Scot had ‘lost the plot’ when he said Jones could be a club legend upon retirement.
Smalling, it was claimed, peaked under Louis van Gaal.
And the United staff member also questioned why Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are prepared to fight for Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Lukaku has been tipped to leave for Serie A and done nothing to dampen the transfer talk.
And the member of staff slammed the Belgium international’s first touch, while also criticising his bulky frame.
Solskjaer, meanwhile, will now turn his attentions to next weekend.
The Red Devils face Huddersfield Town in the penultimate game of the Premier League season on Sunday.

Lindelof should be absolved of any harsh blame or criticism , as he has been somewhat solid for couple of months now., On Smalling and Jones , they are staying because the board refused to sign high quality defenders as requested by then Jose Mourinho , so Solskjaer is now forced to manage the average defenders we have , Ed Woodward and the board are not helping matters either .so appalling [Sadtolook]

I think David’s got a lot of things on his mind. Contract coming to an end, Real Madrid and who knows what else. I’d hate to see him leave but if his head is not at Manchester United then maybe it’s time to pull the plug.
