Lionel Messi, for many the best footballer in the history of the game, and Cirque de Soleil, one of the most prestigious circus companies in the world, have joined forces. They will release a show in 2019, with dates and venues yet to be announced, but it will be a world tour.
"Cirque du Soleil is a family favourite of ours," said Barcelona star Messi, 31.
"It feels both crazy and incredible that Cirque du Soleil will create a show based on my life, my passion, my sport. I have no doubt this show will amaze people as their shows always do."
The company are excited to work with Messi.

"We are convinced that bringing Messi's legacy to life on stage will touch audiences and speak to all football fans."
