The Reds have six European titles to their name and are looking to add more under new head coach Arne Slot.
After one year away from European soccer’s elite club competition, Liverpool are back in the Champions League for 2024/25.
Liverpool have won more European Cups/Champions Leagues than any other British side and only Real Madrid and AC Milan can beat their total of six. The Reds may need time to acclimatise to life under new head coach Arne Slot but the Dutchman inherits a talented squad that has only been strengthened with the late arrival of Federico Chiesa.
UEFA confirmed the Champions League fixture schedule on Saturday, meaning that Liverpool fans can start to book travel for Europe’s best away days. Here are the dates for each of their eight league phase matches in the 2024/25...
17 September 2024 - AC Milan (A) - 3:00 p.m. ET

When is Liverpool’s first Champions League game?
AC Milan - Liverpool FC: Tuesday 17 September 3 p.m. ET
Liverpool have had a quiet summer in the transfer market, with Federico Chiesa their own major addition to the squad that finished third in the Premier League in 2023/24. Nevertheless, they boast a number of elite talents and Slot will be expected to compete on all fronts in his first season at the club.
The Reds’ boast an impressive record in European competition and Anfield is among the most intimidating venues in soccer on a Champions League night. The home game against Real Madrid looks like it will be something special, a rematch of the 2017/18 and 2021/22 Champions League finals. Madrid won on both occasions.
Liverpool’s record against Madrid is not the best, having only one three of the previous 11 games played between the two European heavyweights. The most recent game between the two came in the Round of 16 of the 2022/23 competition, when Madrid cruised to a 6-2 aggregate victory. Liverpool will be out for revenge this time around.

In order to survive this best teams should have always 3 players available at any time in each position that means first 11 X 3 = 33 top notch players available at all times. This is not possible with LFC and its miser owner. Well this format suits Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea and Man C. They all have big squads.
