Liverpool 3-1 Darmstadt 98: Reds finish pre-season with win as Salah & Jota net

Liverpool finished their pre-season campaign with a win over Bundesliga side Darmstadt, but it didn't come without a shock or two.

The Red flew out of the blocks and raced into a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes. First Mohammed Salah poked in from Dominik Szoboszlai, before the Egyptian fed Diego Jota after winning the ball high up the pitch.

But Jurgen Klopp's side were caught out on the break not long after. A ball over the top of Liverpool's high line was met by Mathias Honsak, and he kept his cool to slot past Alisson to halve the deficit.

Luis Diaz restored Liverpool's two-goal lead just before the hour mark, flicking in Szoboszlai's corner with what was a fine finish, reinstating Liverpool's ability and options in attack.

Liverpool will now prepare to take on Chelsea in their Premier League opener on Sunday.
