Gary Neville claimed that Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara was 'laughing at' and 'taking the p***' out of' Manchester United as the Reds ran riot at Anfield.
United delivered an inexcusable performance as they suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's side dazzled as a Mohamed Salah brace and goals from Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane saw them cruise into control.
The Red Devils were chasing shadows as Liverpool dominated with Thiago running the show from midfield.
The 31-year-old delivered a midfield masterclass before being substituted off in the 80th minute to be replaced by Naby Keita.
And, speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former United defender claimed the Spaniard was taking pleasure in his rivals' struggles.
'Liverpool have toyed with Manchester United,' Neville said. 'Thiago was laughing when he came off, he was laughing at Manchester United all game.
'I don't normally swear on the podcast but he took the p*** out of Manchester United tonight. That was so simple for the Liverpool players tonight.'
Klopp's quadruple-chasers topped the Premier League last night - with Manchester City facing Brighton on Wednesday - and Neville insisted they look unstoppable.
The pundit admitted he had doubted Liverpool earlier in the season, believing the golden era of Klopp's side was coming to a close.
But he backtracked following the mauling, insisting they are a 'special team'. He said: 'They're a brilliant team. They've got an incredible spirit. They've got a fight, a togetherness, an energy.
'Everything that you want in a football club it has been building here now for four or five years.
'I did think that pre-Christmas that maybe we were seeing the end of this great team.
'But from somewhere, Jurgen Klopp had got them into a position whereby they're looking unstoppable.
'They've mauled Manchester United tonight. This is a very special team we're watching.
'Champions League winners, league winners and to be fair they've finished second a couple of times when in any of season they would have won the league.
'I couldn't have disliked this club more, from the moment I went to watch Manchester United at the age of five, but you can't help but admire and respect what you're watching at this moment in time because it really is elite performance, passion and great football.'
With six games remaining, Liverpool are battling it out for the Premier League title with Manchester City.
Ahead of Tuesday's North West derby, City had topped the table by one point but Liverpool now have a two-point cushion ahead of their title rivals' clash with Brighton at the Etihad
