Beijing Time (CEST) May 25, Liverpool officially published an article bidding farewell to Robertson, who is about to leave the team.

Robertson's emotional farewell at Anfield on Sunday marked the end of his incredibly successful time at Liverpool, during which we also developed deep affection.

The Scotland captain will leave the club after his contract expires this summer, having created lifelong memories during his nine seasons wearing the shirt. He leaves Liverpool as one of the greatest players of his generation, having won eight major honors, including two Premier League titles, in 375 appearances.

Robertson joined Anfield from Hull City in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee of around £8 million, and he had to wait patiently for his chance. After an initial period of adaptation under Klopp's guidance, he broke into the Liverpool starting lineup midway through his first season and started in the Champions League final at the end of that season.

As he completely mastered the left-back position, it became increasingly apparent that the club had paid one less "0" for his transfer fee.

Robertson displayed endless energy on the wing, gradually growing into one of the best full-backs of his generation, with keen defensive awareness and excellent attacking ability, moving freely up and down the flanks.

He was humble, humorous, and deeply loved by fans and teammates in the dressing room, with Klopp commenting, "He is the perfect player for Liverpool."

In the 2018-19 season, he made 48 appearances in total, and the team accumulated 97 points in the league, narrowly missing out on the title, but returned to the Champions League final, which Liverpool won 2-0 against Tottenham.

Robertson continued to play a crucial role in the following season, as Klopp's team finally achieved the long-awaited championship, ending the club's 30-year wait for a league title with 99 points.

During this period, they won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup. After a challenging 2020-21 season, he and the team again challenged for trophies in the 2021-22 season.

Robertson made 47 appearances in Liverpool's eventual quest for the quadruple, helping the team win the League Cup and FA Cup, with Liverpool ultimately finishing as runners-up in both the league and the Champions League.

That season, his assists for Liverpool exceeded 50. Despite Liverpool's poor performance in the 2022-23 season, he still contributed 11 assists and his total appearances for Liverpool also exceeded 250.

In 2024, Robertson won the League Cup for the second time. After recovering from a summer injury, Robertson continued to be a regular starter for the team after Slot succeeded Klopp as head coach.

This proved to be another special story.

In the 2024-25 season, the Scottish defender participated in 33 of Liverpool's 38 league matches, helping the team build an unshakeable lead in the Premier League and securing the championship trophy four rounds early in April last year.

Due to the pandemic, the 2019-20 season title was won behind closed doors, allowing Robertson to enjoy a new experience: celebrating the championship with the attending fans.

"The way we won the title in 2020 was very unique," he said after the 5-1 home victory over Tottenham, a win that ensured Slot's team won last season's championship and brought pure joy. "We certainly enjoyed it."

"But what we experienced today and the scene when we came to the stadium, as well as the fans' enthusiasm during and after the match, are incomparable. Nothing can compare to it, and I'm glad we could experience all of this in this way."

On the last day of the season, Robertson and his teammates lifted the trophy at Anfield after their match against Crystal Palace, and 24 hours later, they paraded through the city with the Premier League trophy to celebrate.

Robertson's leadership was evident in his appointment as Van Dijk's vice-captain before the start of the 2025-26 season, after which he played another 36 matches, scoring 3 goals, and now he bids farewell to Liverpool.

He has thoroughly cemented his place in Liverpool's history, with his final stats including 378 appearances, 69 assists, 14 goals, and 8 major trophies.

These merely document some of the headlines from Robertson's time at Anfield, during which he was a pivotal figure, beloved by fans, and a true winner.

He said: "I will always cherish the wonderful memories at this football club. I dedicated nine years of my heart to the club, and I have no regrets. I have grown a lot, and this club will always mean a lot to me, and the fans will always mean a lot to me. It has truly been an unforgettable journey."

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute with you.

Thank you, Rob.
