Liverpool Nike new green away kit 'leaked' ahead of 2020/21 EPL season

Liverpool fans have had a first glimpse of next season's Nike away kit after pictures were leaked online appearing to show the new strip.

But not all fans are happy as the Premier League leaders are reverting to a green away kit for the 2020-21 campaign.

Some fans even joked that the kit - which Liverpool may yet wear to lift the Premier League trophy - looked like it had 'got coronavirus'.

Liverpool's kit deal with Nike begins on June 1, after the sportswear giant secured a £30million-a-year contract following a lengthy court battle.

The Reds' five-year deal with current supplier New Balance was due to end with the climax of this campaign.

Liverpool first wore a green away strip in the 1991/2 season - the final campaign before the launch of the Premier League.

So the kit could be interpreted as a nod to Liverpool's glorious past. Liverpool have not won the title since the top flight was rebranded as the Premier League, with their last championship triumph coming in 1990.

However, that was Liverpool's 18th top-flight crown after nearly two decades of dominance of English football, and they are still second on the all-time list, behind only Manchester United who lead the way with 20 title triumphs.

Some fans feel it has some similarities with Tottenham's 3rd kit last season.
