Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly both keeping tabs on West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd, as Jurgen Klopp steps up plans to overhaul his defence.
According to The Sun, the Moroccan international has attracted interest from the two Premier League clubs after joining West Ham from Rennes for £30million last summer.
Aguerd made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers in his first season in England, after recovering from an ankle injury that sidelined him for the first three months of the campaign.
After returning just before the World Cup break, Aguerd established himself as a key cog in West Ham's back four alongside Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.
Moyes has committed to the partnership between the left-footed Moroccan and the right-footed Zouma again this season, with Aguerd starting three of four Premier League games so far.
The latter missed the 3-1 win away at Brighton through suspension after being sent off in the 3-1 win against Chelsea, in which he opened the scoring with his third goal for the club.
Aguerd, who has won 34 caps for Morocco, has an impressive strike rate for a centre-back, scoring nine goals in 91 appearances in Ligue 1 for Dijon and Rennes.
At 27, the Hammers defender fits the age profile for Liverpool as Klopp looks to add some fresh legs to his defence.
Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are both 32, while Joe Gomez is 26 but has started only once in the Premier League this season.
Ibrahima Konate is 24, but has played only 55 games in all competitions since joining from RB Leipzig two years ago due to injuries setbacks.
Klopp overhauled Liverpool's midfield this summer to the tune of £150m, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo arriving at Anfield.
Meanwhile Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naiby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all left.
Conversely, Kyle Walker is City's only defender on the wrong side of 30.
John Stones is 29, while Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake are both 28 and Ruben Dias is 26.
Josko Gvardiol, who arrived from RB Leipzig for this summer for £78m, will only turn 22 in January.

It’s crazy what Klopp could do with names like this. Konate, Matip, Robertson and Tsimikas all arrived without much fanfare but developed massively under Klopp tutelage. Aguerd is highly rated back in morocco and swiftly adapted to EPL tempo. He will develop further under Klopp

nope I think it's better if Liverpool targets silver from benfica and establish him as a key player aguard is good but not better than matip and he's old my point is sometimes look at it shining and walk away

This can be the best transfer after Salah and VVD at Liverpool. Aguerd is in form of his life, too energetic and agile. He’s the solution we need ❤️
