Liverpool will look to trump Manchester United by commanding a world record when they begin negotiations for a new kit deal.
New Balance have been Liverpool's kit suppliers for almost all of the time that Fenway Sports Group have owned the club but the contract with the US firm, which started in June 2012 under the guise of Warrior, expires in 18 months' time.
The deal was initially worth £25million per year but, after renegotiations, it reached a reported £45m per year.
That figure, though, is dwarfed by the £75m per year United struck with adidas when they signed a 10-year contract.
Chelsea, whose deal with Nike generates £60m per year, Saturday's opponents Arsenal and Manchester City all have bigger kit deals than Liverpool and that is something last season's Champions League finalists are eager to address.
Liverpool have established themselves as one of Europe's leading clubs under Jurgen Klopp and with the majority of the squad all on long-term deals - and the manager committed until 2022 - the indication is it is a position they will hold.
It gives them the basis to negotiate a record deal.

No trophies for the past so many years. One season wonder in which they have not even won anything yet for now. Don¿t think can get a better deal than United. United jerseys are selling like hot cakes in Southeast Asia!

that's what I am.saying when that time comes the deal will be well above 100 and should another company with a mind boggling proposal we can cancel the one with adidas and pay them off
No... you cant pay off a multi million pound sponsorship deal. It's set in stone. It does'nt work like a players contract.. And by 2026 with inflation most teams will be negotiating 100m deals

Liverpool were the first ever club to have a shirt sponsor along with Umbro... Also they have had almost 20yrs with adidas in the past. Let the sponsor battle commence 💲💲

True. What happens off the pitch became of primary concern at United as long as the club pulled in money for the greedy Glazers. Football became an after thought.

Liverpool sell out stadiums all over the world in pre-seasons, no other PL club can do that. New Balance clearly see Liverpool worth
Selling out pre season matches doesn't balance books for sponsors. They need to be confident that the sponsorship will bring in more money than they're outlaying.

Real Madrid had more lucrative deals than Barcelona during the Pep era. It's 2018 and people still don't understand some brands are simply bigger than others. Regardless of the current success on the football pitch.

No, Liverpool is not aiming to trump Man United's Adidas deal. They are looking to get the best deal possible for the club. DM as always using headlines to encourage trolls in the comments section.

Read carefully and more thorough... Liverpool is getting another deal for more than £75M so it will trump Man Utd... not the current £45M which is what New Balance is paying now.
