Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike appeared to pick up a serious injury during his side's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield and Reds boss Arne Slot has offered an update on the Frenchman
Liverpool boss Arne Slot admits that Hugo Ekitike's injury has left him concerned, with the striker immediately leaving Anfield.
The Frenchman was involved in a bizarre incident during the first-half against his former side. He went down under no challenge in agony.
He required treatment from Liverpool doctors before being stretchered off the pitch. And Slot does not seem particularly optimistic.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, the Dutchman said: "Not too good, we could all see that he didn't look well and didn't look right. We can all see it didn't look good. In the second-half he went home and I didn't see him.
"Again as it seems, losing a player is something we've had a lot this season. It's very hard for him because you never want to be injured at this time of the season."

Ekitike, 23, was only signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer and has been one of the bright sparks for the Reds across what has been a miserable season. He has scored 17 goals in all competitions.
His club and international teammate Ibrahima Konate also offered his take and expressed his concern.
The defender said: "I think it is bad. I don't know, I have heard many things, I have no word to talk about that because with the World Cup coming it is very, very hard for him and I send him my prayers."
There was also further concern elsewhere with Jeremie Frimpong going off at the break, while his replacement Joe Gomez was withdrawn, having been introduced as a half-time substitute.
Alexander Isak started the game but had a difficult evening before he was replaced at the break.
Those potential injuries came on a difficult night for the Reds on Merseyside. The Reds needed to stage another Anfield comeback following their defeat in Paris. But a brace from Ousmane Dembele saw them dumped out of the Champions League and end the season without silverware.
Liverpool are now forced to focus on their task to seal a spot in next year's Champions League. Slot's side sit fifth ahead of this weekend's clash against Merseyside rivals Everton.
They then face a tough end to the season, with Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford all set to come before the campaign concludes.

Speedy recovery and take time to learn and develop how to play as one team rather than holding and killing the ball.
