Ahead of the meeting between Barcelona and Liverpool on Wednesday evening, the Merseyside club have been forced to condemn the behaviour of some of their travelling supporters following a number of incidents in the city.

Videos have emerged on social media of Liverpool supporters gathered in the main square, including one individual who appeared to shove at least one local bystander into a fountain.

In response to these images, the English giants have released a public statement ensuring that they are working hard to identify the culprits.

"Liverpool Football Club is working with Merseyside Police and the authorities in Spain, who are endeavouring to identify those involved in the incident," the statement read.

"Such behaviour is, clearly, totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

"It would be inappropriate to comment further while the situation is ongoing, other than to confirm the club will follow due process in any and all cases of this nature."
