Liverpool fans have claimed the decision to award their side's late winner at Nottingham Forest was correct as Ibrahima Konate suffered a foul in the build-up.
Jurgen Klopp's men snatched all three points deep into injury-time thanks to a 99th minute header by Darwin Nunez.
However, controversy struck as play had stopped for a head injury to Ibrahima Konate over a minute earlier, as Callum Hudson-Odoi shaped to cross from a dangerous position. Konate recovered quickly and Tierney ruled that Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher should restart play.
Yet instead of returning possession, Kelleher picked out a team-mate and Liverpool went on the attack before eventually finding the winning goal.
Reds supporters insist Konate was fouled by Ryan Yates before he collided with Kelleher and therefore the goal rightly stood.
One Liverpool fan wrote on X: 'Really poor analysis of the NFFC LFC game. You totally missed Ryan Yates kicking Konate in the head which was a foul & red card all day long. You also missed the ref whistle to stop play whilst the ball was still in the box & before NFFC gained possession.'
Another mirrored those views, saying: 'It was a foul on Konate, so Tierney got that wrong too. He was hit with a karate kick to the head and the ref missed it & the liner. So it wasn’t even a drop ball for Forest if we are following the laws of the game but nobody on tv is mentioning this.'
'Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the ball was returned to Liverpool because of a foul on Konate?' a third fan wrote.
Tierney's controversial decision resulted in Forest coach Steven Reid to be shown a red card after heated scenes on the benches, while unused substitute Felipe was booked.
Forest's owner Evangelos Marinakis was also seen confortning Tierney shortly after the full-time whistle.
Meanwhile, Mark Clattenburg will plead Forest's case to his one-time employers after the former referee was left stunned by Tierney's display.

Correct until it's against them
What did Man city say, for the foul on Rashford before their first goal? Did the media say anything about it? You see the whole EPL hates Liverpool and doing everything possible to give Man City or Arsenal the league, just because they hate Klopp. The truth is we’re enjoying the tears 😭 and long may it continue

Af you're very stup*d, do you thing Liverpool fans will say it's not a correct decision
The foul on Rashford from Walker that lead to your first goal, what would you say to that? Ewu. You will just open your dirty mouth and say rubbish. As a street wise guy, you think before speaking, if not you will say what will end you up in a big mess soon. Just a kindly advice, cause you speak like a woman, always with emotional drama. Pus😆y

Why All Football HATES LIVERPOOL 🤔

Fact is, if Nunez header went wide, no one would be saying a thing! Forest would be celebrating on the pitch late into the evening, probably joined by Arsenal, City & Utd fans!! Kelleher got the ball from referee Paul Tierney, so what happened next?? Did Liverpool go and score directly from being given the ball?? Nope. Forest won the ball back when it was hoofed up into the middle, but then it went out for a throw in 10yards short of the halfway line to Liverpool.💁♂️ So the Forest players must have marked up their opponents to prevent an easy throw-in and keep the pressure on? Nope, the whole Forest team retreated deep into their own half, allowing Konate to do a throw-in back to the goalkeeper.🤔 Oh, so the ball went back to the keeper again. Did he kick it long for Liverpool to score directly from it?? Nope, the ball got passed to Van Dijk in the middle, who then passed it all the way across the pitch to Tsimikas, neither whom was marked or initially pressure by the Forest players.🙄 So Tsimikas must have delivered a dangerous ball into the box for Liverpool to score from!? Nope, his cross was terrible and cleared everyone in the box and was going out for a throw in on the near side after initially being left by a Forest defender.😮💨 Did a Forest defender see the ball out of play? Nope, he let Gomez nip in but trapped him in the corner by the flag.🫣 Did the Forest defender keep him there? Nope, he let Gomez hit the ball off him for a corner.😵 Did Liverpool score directly from the corner? Nope, Forest managed to head the ball clear where it fell to Tsimikas 20yards out🤨 Ahh, Tsimikas again, so he must have done some wonderful Greek trickery to create a goal!? Nope, his shot hit a Forest defender and bounced around the box.🫣 So Liverpool must have picked up the loose ball and scored then? Nope, it fell to two Forest players who instead of clearing the ball long and ending the game, decided to dribble out from the edge of their own area.🤦 So a Liverpool player must have done an amazing tackle to win the ball back? Nope, the Forest player messed up his feet and ended up kicking the ball straight to Mac Allister.🤡 So the Forest defenders must have pushed forward to leave any Liverpool strikers in the box in an offside position?? Nope, the Forest right fullback switched off and sat a yard deeper, playing Darwin Nunez onside...🤬 So this Forest fullback must have received a lot of critism like Trent Alexander Arnold always gets, for playing the striker onside and costing his team a crucial goal!? Nope, it was completely ignored by fans and media 🤔 So to recap, Liverpool still have to travel the whole length of the pitch, lose the ball, win a throw in, kick the ball aimless through the box, win a corner, take a corner, lose the ball, win the ball back, take a shot that was blocked, lose the ball again, get given the ball back again, deliver in another cross into the box, and manage to beat the keeper who stood on his goalline whilst Nunez is heading the ball from 5yards out....😱 Let's also not ignore an identical situation in the first half, where a Forest player went down holding his head and Elliott had the ball 20yards out from goal.... what did referee Tierney do with that "drop ball"??? He gave possession over to Nottingham Forest when it should have gone to Liverpool!! 🫢 Would there be this outrage by pundits if Forest managed to score from this situation, or is it only reserved for Liverpool!? 🙃 It's not like ignoring a blatant handball in the box and its not given by either ref or VAR, or ruling out a goal for offside when quite clearly onside!! Clattenberg might be saying that Forest were hard done by, but they still had several chances to see the game out and failed to do so. Maybe they should be looking closer to home with their own poor decision-making then confronting the referee! I hear Forest and Arsenal fans complaining about all the added time, when the Forest keeper was faking an injury for 5minutes to run the clock down!! If it wasn't for bad refereeing decisions this season, Liverpool would have 8 more points than they currently have! So don't give me excuses for a drop ball handed over 80yards away from the home goal and Liverpool go on to score two minutes later!
Whoever read this should summarize for us

As Liverpool fans, they couldn't have agreed less because it favour. But to be honest, if this decision was taken against them, they would blame and rubbish referee for such a decision. People lose their conscience and value because of sentiment, and there is no truth any longer. But I believe certainly same scenario is gonna happen to them in the future and see how they are going to react.
shut up same thing happen in first half when Liverpool have position so why crying 😢 😭 😪

The referee was right. He sort of said to Liverpool goalkeeper "Get on with it" Liverpool got on with the game and so did Nottingham Forest. VAR confirmed that the goal was legal. Stop making big fuss out of nothing.
