Liverpool have been linked with several summer signings - and they've been given the green light by three transfer targets.
Liverpool will need some additional attacking quality this summer if they are to thrive under Andoni Iraola. The new Reds boss is already making significant moves in the summer transfer window, with three targets appearing receptive to a switch to Anfield.
The club splashed out £446million on new talent last summer, bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez. While these signings are yet to fully hit their stride, Iraola will be confident in his ability to get the best out of the current crop.
The Liverpool manager is also keeping a close eye on the ongoing World Cup as he plots his next moves. Several players are turning heads at the major tournament across the Atlantic, which could prove costly for the Reds as their price tags continue to climb.
Yan Diomande - £100m
Diomande is firmly at the top of Liverpool's wishlist right now. However, RB Leipzig have already rejected the Reds' bid of £86m for the Ivory Coast star.
The German club are holding out for closer to £112m for the deal, while publicly insisting the winger is not available at any price, according to the Daily Mail. They are reportedly planning to offer Diomande a fresh contract featuring a substantial release clause.
It is understood that the 19-year-old is keen on the Anfield switch, and there is internal frustration with the player and his representative over the length of the negotiations. It's suggested the Reds may choose to compromise with Leipzig and table a £100m offer for Diomande.
Bradley Barcola - £100m
Another winger on Liverpool's radar is Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola. The 23-year-old, currently representing France at the World Cup, is reportedly considering his future in Ligue 1 following three impressive campaigns.
He's claimed two Champions Leagues and three league titles since making the switch from Lyon to PSG in 2023. Arsenal were initially frontrunners to sign Barcola, according to the Metro, with reports indicating last week that the Gunners were preparing an offer.
However, Liverpool did explore a move for the star last year, with French publication Le10Sport claiming that Anfield chiefs have revived their interest this summer. They added that Barcola is "thrilled" at the prospect of a move to the Reds and is "excited" by Iraola's project.
Another emerging talent in European football, any agreement with PSG would likely require a fee comparable to Diomande's. While that would represent £200m on just two players, it would go a considerable way to addressing the problems in attack.
Adam Wharton - £60m
Finally, while Adam Wharton hasn't explicitly been reported to desire a move specifically to Liverpool, he could be eyeing a move to the Premier League's elite level following a trophy-laden spell with Crystal Palace.
The midfielder lifted the Conference League with the Eagles last season and also boasts the FA Cup and Community Shield amongst his honours. Palace co-owner Steve Parish is acutely aware that the club risks losing Wharton due to his ambition to play Champions League football.
Speaking in October 2025, he said: "Look, I think Adam at some point will want to play, either in the Champions League with us, if we could make that happen, or probably with another club. He's an extraordinary talent."
TeamTALK reports that Liverpool are plotting to build their midfield around Dominik Szoboszlai and Wharton, who remains firmly in Iraola's plans. It's understood the two clubs could strike an agreement for the 21-year-old, who carries a price tag of around £60m.
A combined outlay of approximately £260m would be needed to bring all three players to Anfield. Following last summer's lavish spending, it represents yet another enormous investment, but one that would hand Iraola the ideal platform to deliver silverware next season.
